Welcome to the Egerton Arms

In 1561 the Egerton Arms was noted to be one of three Alehouses located in Saughall Magna and Saughall Parva. This information is contained in a document headed "The names of all persons which keps Alehouses within this Hundred of Weral, beynge the obligacl the xxviii daie of June iii Eliz."

The site has been historically known as an old coaching inn located on a main trading route from the busy port area of Chester to the Wirral and beyond. It was also used frequently by local fisherman, and less scrupulous individuals (nothing's changed there!), when the River Dee passed much closer than it does today.

The Egerton Arms Pub is now a charming Country pub set in the heart of west Cheshire and on the North Wales border. We are easily found located on the main Hermitage Road between Blacon and Saughall on the outskirts of Chester. A large car park to side and rear ensures ample parking, and the local bus route passes approximately every 30 minutes.

We are a traditional pub offering those of all ages a warm and friendly atmosphere, where a relaxing drink and bite to eat during the day, can move up a gear or two at night, where some of the best entertainment around is sure to attract those of all tastes. A pool table and darts board keeps those 'more active' drinkers happy.

We have weekly quiz nights, live bands, disco and karaoke, theme nights and much more. Our pub is also the home of active darts, pool and football teams, as well as one of the best fishing clubs around.

Our vast range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cask ales for the real ale enthusiast, fine wines from around the world, spirits, traditional lagers and bitters, and an extensive range of more 'modern' bottled beers and our legendary 'shots', is sure to accommodate all.

Our freshly cooked food from our extensive 'hearty' Egerton Grub menu is well worth a try, and will not disappoint.

Our beer patio area ensures that a pleasurable drink and bite to eat can also be enjoyed outside during the finer weather.
